Pastor Durham was born and raised in Pickens, South Carolina and was saved at the age of eleven under the ministry of his Dad, the Reverend Claude Durham, at the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Sunset, South Carolina.
Our Lord called Pastor Durham to preach God's Word shortly after graduating from Pickens High School in 1985, and he delivered his first message on the steps of the Pickens County Courthouse, street preaching with some preachers from his home church at the time, the Fairview Baptist Church. In 1986, Pastor Durham married his wife, Barbara, and they have three children and seven grandchildren.
In April, 1999, Pastor Durham graduated from the West End Baptist Bible College in Easley, South Carolina with a Master's Degree in Theology. In 2015, he graduated from the Andersonville Theological Seminary with a Doctorate in Theology Degree. Pastor Durham began full-time ministry for our Lord in 2001. He has pastored the Sturgis Baptist Church in Sturgis, Kentucky, the Whispering Pines Baptist Church in Hartsville, South Carolina, and the Open Bible Baptist Church in Sumter, South Carolina.
On June 2nd, 2024, Pastor Durham accepted the call to pastor the Flat Shoals Baptist Church in Walhalla, South Carolina. Pastor Durham has the desire to honor and serve our Lord, serve our precious church family, reach out to the Flat Shoals community with the glorious gospel of Christ, and continue the ministry and legacy of Bro. Charles Kennemore, who is a great man of God, a precious friend and also the Pastor Emeritus of our church. ​
